I bought oranges, grapefruits, and avocados. Then I went around looking for subjects to paint. There were many potential subjects. Finally I settled on this old pick-up truck, which was carrying cases of Spring strawberries. In the back of the vehicle, tall wooden rails were installed on three sides to hold the strawberries in place. From a distance, I could see 2-3 workers unloading strawberries to the sales booth under the pavilion structure. I was attracted to the scene of hard working laborers in the morning with the farm truck.
The market's bathroom was on my left front side. People kept going in and out, or stopping by the drinking fountain next to it. I used the facility in the painting as a stepping stone to lead to the truck scene .
I was glad to be out there to enjoy the sunny atmosphere of the market, even though I was often interrupted by friendly people.
